Ruth, is St Mary in St Helens the one that is in Prescot or the RC St Mary's in Blackbrook Road, Saint Helens?

Ruth, the information you have supplied is spot on, it is now making much more sense thanks to Ruth

Yes there is family connections to St Helens, Mary's  mother Ellen Pike (nee Frier) came from Sutton, St Helens

Hi All

Wow that was quick, you could be right because that's where Mary's mother came from.
it all fits together now, thank you all so much for your quick replies.

Have a quick look at my website and you will see why that's possible

Thank you, David

Lancashire / likeliest burial ground
« on: Tuesday 30 October 12 19:29 GMT (UK)  »
Hello

I have a death of a Mary Pike 27 May 1843 aged 3 years, my question is two part the first is, at death Mary was living in Richmond Row, Glovers Court, Liverpool.
what would be the most likeliest burial ground giving her address at the time.

Secondly, Mary was Christened at St Peter Liverpool 19 April 1940, i have noticed there seems to be more than one St Peter, can anyone tell me which one it might possibly be, she was born March 1840 Spencer's Buildings Liverpool.

Thank You

PS I have also posted this request on Liverpool and South West Lancs

Hi

I am trying to work out what the middle bit is in the occupation of John Nicholls, born 1797, Warwickshire, Birmingham.
I can see Patten ______ Maker, any help would be appreciated.

Stan

It looks like the first explanation give was correct, and not glass engraver.

Thanks Stan, think I will go with that.

Occupation Interests / Crown Glasscutter Master

Hi

On the 1841 census the occupation of my Gt-Gt-Gt-Grandfather is shown as Crown Glasscutter Master, I have asked the question on other websites, and been told it was someone who cut the bull’s-eye glass into square panes, but I have also been told this was someone who cut patterns into glass.
On the 1841 census he was working at the Ravenhead Glassworks, St Helens, Lancashire.
Does anyone have any knowledge of this occupation, and the true meaning of, Crown Glasscutter Master?

Many Thanks, David
