Have now discovered he went to Ireland. )  brother's obit wording suggests he was alive in 1941. Another William C may have been in ROAC and suggests he was killed in an accident while on duty in Ireland.   One day  ...

There must be someone else masquerading ! as have his birth certificate from Huntly. However have noticed discrepancies in both brother's certificates when age is mentioned. Gordon's death certificate relates correctly place, and parents names.  Think they maybe "lost" a few years when
emigrated.  Too many other details are correct.  Considering there is another entry for Robert andCatherines marriage giving name as Carmuck and Smithink, again with same marriage dates and correct parents for Robert but another interpretation of Carty as "Kate's" mother's name, am going with misinterpretion of written word.  Have Robert's birth and marriage certificate and Gordon's birth and death certificate - the back information is correct, but think they did lose a few years on emigrating  ...also have them staying together before Robert's marriage.  Considering when looking for Gordon, was found using family search un der "Gurdon Cormie,"  -  !!!

Should have said, yet another version.  However actual marriage certificate gives Smythwick. But will have a wee search on the alternative spellings as well.  Thanks.

Sorry, Hampden County, MA. Brother Gordon , have his death cert (1913)/. Both brothers were masons/stonecutters.    Both brothers earlier living on 510 Main Street Springfield Hampden County.   Catherine's father was Michael Smythwick and her mother Jane McCarty)  Catherine born in Ireland.   Perhaps they should have been Simpsons! :)
