Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Re: Chandlers Ford burial/cremation request
« on: Monday 09 September 24 16:35 BST (UK)  »
Thanks for the replys, I've just heard from Southampton Crem and both were cremated there (although Kate is at South Stoneham where I believe the crem was at that time)

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Chandlers Ford burial/cremation request
« on: Monday 09 September 24 15:28 BST (UK)  »
My grandfather died in Jan 1979 at Winchester and was cremated possibly at Southampton Crem.  i currently have a request with Southampton Council for the entry if it was there.  Were there any other crems in the area at this time?  He lived in Chandlers Ford.

His mother Kate Owen Gadd (she remarried twice after my great grandfather died) died in March 1958 at Chandlers Ford but I have no idea if she was buried or cremated.  I have searched the Eastleigh cemetery database but no record of her so I have concluded she was cremated or buried at one of the churches in Chandlers Ford - possibly St Boniface.  Would there be anywhere else at this time?  Has anyone access to the St Boniface burial register for March 1958?

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Consistory court cases
« on: Friday 22 January 21 08:21 GMT (UK)  »
I received two Consistory court cases relating to a case in 1608 (7 pages) and another in 1614 (8 pages) both in Derbyshire.  However they seem to be in Latin and/or Legal abbreviation.

I anyone able to transcribe them for me or know anyone who can?  I have already had one quote but it is over budget but I am willing to pay for them to be transcribed

I used to use FTM 2014 and did consider upgrading to the latest until I saw the price yesterday!  But yes it is that type of chart I'd like

Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / Rootsmagic descendant list
« on: Monday 25 November 19 20:14 GMT (UK)  »
I am thinking of changing to Rootsmagic 7 and have downloaded RM Essentials to have a play with.  I just have one query I hope someone can answer.

As my family tree is so large (over 17000 people), I print it using 'Outline descendants chart' or similar printing birth, baptism, marriage, death, burial, occupation and notes (census, newspaper reports, manorial records etc).  It looks like the descendant list would fulfill this task but from RM essentials I can only print birth, marriage and death.  Is there a way of printing all the above in a descendants list?

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: DNA advice
« on: Wednesday 18 September 19 20:05 BST (UK)  »
My great great grandfather Thomas was born in 1863 on the Isle of Wight but by 1881 was in London living with his cousin.  His eldest son my great grandfather was born in Camberwell in 1886 three further children followed but he didn't marry the mother for some reason.  WATO point to Thomas being the possible ancestor and not my great grandfather.  Thomas was a laundryman - had his own laundry so no reason to go overseas

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Re: DNA advice

Thanks for your suggestions, I have just tried WATO and different hypothesis and my great great grandfather having an illegitimate child and DR being a descendent of this looks most likely. However I am still trying to work out the locations due to great great grandfather coming from the Isle of Wight and moving to London by the age of 17 and DR's family at this time being in Sweden, Ireland and Germany!

I have used that and spent the last few weeks compiling DR's tree which I now have back to his great great grandparents - none of them in England where mine and PH tree's are based.
