Hi Paul, I'm wondering how you got the details of your ancestors buried in Bonamargy Friary Cemetery?  My ancestor is buried there and I'm hoping there may be information on his gravestone but haven't been able to find any transcriptions etc online.

I started a few months ago trying to trace my Sherrard family in the Ballycastle area as my grandmother Mary Sherrard was born in Bonamargy in 1884. It now seems that the Sherrard connection is in Limavady but my great grandmother Mary McCormick came from the Ballycastle area. Mary McCormick was born in 1863. Her parents were John McCormick ,who was a collier, and Mary Jane Laverty. Mary McCormick was working as a domestic servant in Campbeltown in 1883 where she married James Sherrard (b 1862) in the Episcopal church there. A year later their daughter was born in Bonamargy.
If anyone can shed any further light on my family would love to hear from them.
Thanks

Lynne

Hi Lynne, I have a Robert McCormick as the informant on my probable ancestor's death certificate in 1866, in Ballycastle.  He's signed his name and said he was present at the death.  My ancestor was supposedly buried at Bonamargy too. If you'd like a copy I'm more than happy to email it to you.
