Hi Again,

Thanks for the info, and Pels - I have no problem with putting all that info together

Daniel1111 - It might be the same John - its just that on the 1851 census John's place of birth is Richmond. Not living in the UK I'm not too great with the geography of Yorkshire and getting really confused with the Ridings (think thats age though!!!)
Thank you both again
 ;D ;D

Hi all,
Don't know if anybody could help me but is there a CD of the Yorkshire North Ridings in partically Barningham.
I'm trying to locate a Maria Stockdale - no other info I'm afraid other than she had a son in1810 called John.  I got a copy of his Marriage cert and theres no father so I'm guessing Maria is the one.
I've got a big sent in my head where I've been banging it against the wall!!!! ??? ???
Hope somebody can help
Many thanks

Hi Andrea,
Thank you so much - I'll give them a bash.
I must say in fairness to Yorkshire Archives they did have a quick look for me for John  (2 Johns both of which died!!) so a great big thank you to Yorkshire Archives :D
I've applied for a marriage cert - nothing on that so I've now applied for the 2nd born birth cert (1st was born pre 1837) Watch this space!!

Best wishes Pipj

Durham / Turner Family of Lanchester/Carr Co Durham
« on: Wednesday 29 November 06 17:25 GMT (UK)  »
Greetings all,

I've found  Emma Turner born 16/02/1906 Lanchester but I'm trying to find her husband's side
I think its James Carr c1902  Hartlepool   (they married Apr Qtr 1928 Lanchester - which I've got and gives nothing away!!!)
I believe I've picked the most common two surnames for Co Durham - sorry about that but I know we all love a challenge :D :D
Many thanks and kind regards
Pipj

Yorkshire (North Riding) Lookup Requests / Stockdale - look up
« on: Tuesday 21 November 06 13:01 GMT (UK)  »

Is there anybody who would take pity on me and help me out. I am flying over to the UK tomorrow and was going to the NYRO but theyre closed for the week!!!!! :'( :'(  So I'm hoping somebody might have the parish records on CD

I'm trying to locate a John Stockdale according to the census he was born c 1811 Richmond N Yorks.
I've found one c 1806 but he died soon after. I'm trying to find John's parentage and I've hit a brick wall.
I've found him on the 1841/1851/1861 he's moved to Co Durham and married 3 times. I've got one his marriage certs but theres nothing on that, plus I've tried the usual routes IGI etc etc

I would be extremely grateful and wouldn't normal ask as I know how busy people are.

Thanks in advance

Pipj :)

Durham / Confused re Cornforth/South Church parish
« on: Saturday 18 November 06 19:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hope somebody can help - I don't live in the UK so I'm not very good with the geography of Durham.
I've located a Thomas Stockdale c1837 according to the 1851/61 cenus he was born in Cornforth or South Church. I guess these are the same, but according to the details of the church at Cornforth it wasn't built until 1886 so where would he have been most likely christened.
Thanks all
