I think you are right about the 1940 census, Sandra.
Thank you for Joseph’s obituary. I would have written sooner, but there seemed to be a glitch in the system for a bit.

In 1930, Addie claims to be a widow again, also in 1940. This would mean that Samuel died between 1925 and 1930, if this is true.

Also, on the 1940 census, Addie claims to have another daughter, Adele, who is 33 married to Herbert Hansly. This daughter would have to be adopted since she was born abt 1907. Or born out of wedlock.Or ....? There seems to be a mother Hannah Goethals.

Yes, according to my records, Samuel Paul Hart died 17 Dec 1935, Manhattan, although I don't have his actual death certificate.
Samuel's brother Henry William Hart married Mary Ann Stimpson, a sister to Addie. Mary Ann died 23 June 1953, presuming Red Deer, Alberta as that is where Henry William died Nov 2, 1955. Their daughter Florence Mary McMann died 18 July 1991 in Calgary, Alberta, presuming that is where George McMann, her husband, died 11 June 1978. I don't know if George and Florence had any children as they married Apr 6, 1924 (haven't had a chance to look as yet).

Thank you, Sandra, but this has turned out to be the wrong person. The marriage date is correct however. I scrolled through the articles and they are the wrong person. Addie and Samuel seemed to separate between 1892, when Samuel is a laborer and 1900, when Addie says she is a widow, and in 1910, but are back together in 1925 when Samuel and Addie are together, Samuel is a Steel Constructor, along with their daughters Margaret B. Hart and Clare Slocum, and granddaughter Norma C. Slocum, age 13. Their son William Hart is living with his Stimpson grandparents in 1910, single.

Samuel Hart was born in Canada in 1866 to William Hart and his first wife Filamen Roberts. In 1880, he is in the USA, with his parents William Hart and his second wife Jane McGorran. Samuel married in 1886 to Addie Stimpson and by 1892, they had 3 children. In 1893, Samuel is a doctor and there is a newspaper article in The Enterprise and Vermonter on June 30, 1893. Can anyone access this article?
Thank you
Peggy
