Wonderful. That is the correct Elizabeth Nicholson (McCullough).
Unfortunately there is no sign of her husband John or my great grandfather James McCullough her  brother but  now I know where she is buried which would surely confirm that both she and James originated from Donacloney.

Now all I need is some kind soul to read her headstone!!

Another coincidence...Warrens were my great grandparents! However that was in Suffolk UK.

I have a letter written by Elizabeth from the Courtna Farraga in 1876 , not long before she died. I did not know she had children, how sad the baby died.
That would give me however an indication of her age. Her brother James was born approx 1822 so she was much older.

Can you tell me what the Source MIs stands for.
many thanks again
Marj from OZ

Thank you.
How do I access the CofI records?

Looks like some progress if the two parishes are so close. The James found by LH looks very possible as the father in 1863.  James jnr sailed for Australia approx 1850

Thank you very much for your help LH and Shanew147.
I am quite sure that Warringstown must be the correct place as Warrenstown was the first place mentioned on the ship and  easily confused with Warringstown,
James and Mary Craig were married in Tullylish parish  6th March 1843. Is this still Warringstown?
Both were from Tullylish Parish.
Children have only Ireland as their birthplace except a son who was born Ballynagarick, County Down. Is this still Tullylish?
Can you point me in the right direction to investigate further and maybe find details of James birth siblings etc. I know he had one sister named Elizabeth as mentioned earlier. His parents were James McCullough and Mary Morill
Thank you also for the information on Courtna Farraga which was very useful.
Marj.

Thank you. Unfortunately I do not have a birth place for Elizabeth. Elizabeth and John had no children.
The brother of Elizabeth, my great grandfather, was James McCullough and he came out to Australia in the early 1850's.
The passenger details have him documented as born in Warrenstown, County Down but there does not appear to be any such place. However I do know he and  possibly Elizabeth were both born in County Down.
James married  Mary Craig and brought Mary and 4 children out to Australia.

The parents of Elizabeth and James were James McCullough and Mary Morrill.

It is possible that Elizabeth and John were married in County Down.
They were protestants.

I am also hoping to ascertain when the property.Court na Farraga passed into the hands of the Smythe family. My great aunt was working for Exham in 1877 but I think he died approx 1881.  I have no clues on what happened to Elizabeth after that or if there is a death notice somewhere for her.

I am looking for a possible County Dublin marriage for

Elizabeth McCullough and John Nicholson.   The marriage would have taken place some time before 1876 however I am unable to determine a possible time frame.
Elizabeth was born approx  1820 in County Down. I have no details about John Nicholson.

Any information greatly appreciated.

In 1876 Elizabeth was working at Court na Farrago Killeney as I think a housekeeper for Mr Exham a court judge.

I am very anxious to gain some more information on Court na Farraga.  I have a letter written by a great aunt in 1876 from this residence.  Her name was Elizabeth Nicholson. She was marreid to John Nicholson her maiden name was McCullough.

I am hoping to find out what position she held at the house working for Mr Exham a court judge.

Is there some way of finding out more about Mr Exham or any possible way of finding out who worked for him. I have a reference to a Miss Bedlington who was leaving to get married.  I think my aunt was the housekeeper.

Any info greatly received!
