Dear Judith
Thanks so much for finding that will from the PROV. It is amazing what material is out there.
Yours sincerely,
Karen

PROV has a digitised Will for Thomas EMERY, died 13 August 1878, farmer, of Clarendon, Victoria
He leaves all to his wife, Johanna, for her lifetime, while she remains single and until the youngest child comes of age. Then his estate is to be divided among his youngest six children. He specifically states that his oldest child, Mary, is to be left out of the division of the estate but that 25pounds is in a bank for her. Eldest son John is to be manager for his mother - "so long as he conducts himself in a proper way to the satisfaction of his mother". The will is dated
There is an inventory also.
PROV wills sometimes take a while to download - patience is needed!

Clarendon is about 10km out of Ballarat. I could not see a will for William.
