On 24 Dec 1851 at Whitstaunton there was a marriage between Isaac Hawkins, x, 20, bachelor, labourer, resident of Whitestaunton, father George a labourer; and Ann French, x, 19, spinster, resident of Whitestaunton, father James a labourer. Witnesses were George Tutcher & Grace Samson.
Isaac & Ann had a daughter Sarah Ann who was baptised at Whitestaunton on 21 Mar 1852: abode was recorded as Holey ( a part of the parish of Whitestaunton, Isaac's occupation a labourer. Then on 29 Sep 1856 son George was baptised.
A further possible child of Ann's is Tom Hawkins baptised on 25 Mar 1866: Tom described as baseborn; mother Ann described as widow, living at Holey.
Ann French appears as an 8-year old in the 1841 census returns for Whitestaunton, at Holey, with parents James & Mary (both recorded aged 35 but subsequent censuses suggest they were 37 and 38)) and 4 siblings.
Hope this helps a little,
Jenny
