South Africa / Death & other records in South Africa
« on: Sunday 10 February 13 19:07 GMT (UK)  »
Hi - I have in the last few days discovered that a relative emigrated to South Africa and died (as best I can tell) aroud 1996.  His name was Derek Wilson and he was born in Belfast in 1938.

I was very pleased with myself when I found the Ancestry24 site and even more so when my search on there brought up records that seemed related to him.  However, when I tried to access them I got a message saying the site was closing and have today received an email response from the administrator of the site saying they can't give access as membership has closed in advance of the wind-up of the site at end Feb.  Although she did say the records would not be lost, there has been no decision by the company on what they will do with the data.

So I am stumped  :(  Has anybody got any ideas about anywhere else I could search for information instead?

Ta

Durham Lookup Requests / Electoral Look up Request

Hi - I would be grateful if someone would be able to check electoral registers for 73 Hartington Road, Stockton on Tees for the 1950 - 1952 period.  Looking to see if this is where a relative of mine (surname Boyd) lived.

Thanks

Yorkshire (West Riding) Lookup Requests / Naylor Deaths & Burials
« on: Friday 08 February 13 09:42 GMT (UK)  »
Hey - I am hoping someone can help with queries I have relating to 2 people in my family tree.  Mary Ann Charlton m Bernard McGuire Naylor in 1914 in St Anne's Cathedral.  Using 2 of the paid ancestry sites I have found a Bernard M Naylor who died in Leeds 5 years later (though his age is 5 years different from that worked out from age on marriage cert).  There is no father's name on the marriage cert for Bernard so I haven't been able to use that to find any birth/census records to see if this might be him.

Would anyone have access to any resources which could help identify if this is him and where he might be buried?

Thanks

Rhonda
