Trish & Shaun, have been offline for a few days......

Yes I have the three children of Thomas and Alice (Charlotte) Cullen born between 1817 and 1823.
All baptised at St John the Evangelist, Westminster.

Thomas Matthew Cullen : b 24/10/1817, bapt 31/1/1819, abode Kings Place, St Pancras, Father Thomas (Gardener), Mother Alice.

Elizabeth Cullen : b 10/4/1820, bapt 22/2/1821, abode Kings Place, St Pancras, father Thomas (Gardener), Mother Alice.

Charlotte Cullen : b 11/12/1823 (date not particularly clear), bapt 22/8/1824, abode Kings Place, St Pancras, Father Thomas (Gardener), Mother Alice.

William Cullen "their" fourth child (albeit 15 years later which I thought was a bit unusual) from his Birth Certificate:
b 23/6/1838 at Poplar Cottage Gt College St Camden Town, Father Thomas (Gardener), Mother Alice Cullen formerly Butler.

Now if the 1834 buried Thomas Cullen is the same person, then quite clearly it's all gone pearshaped. William is my G-G-Grandfather. Thomas may not now be my G-G-G-Grandfather.

Hello,  I am trying to get some info on the parents of a Charlotte Alice Butler who was born in Liverpool in about 1793 I believe. Her mother MAY have been a Margaret Kitchen but I'm not certain.

She married a Thomas Cullen at St Martins in the Fields, London on 2/12/1816, using that name, but later is recorded just as Alice.
I can't find her in the 1841 census, but in 1851 she was living in St Pancras (aged 58), then in 1861 aged 66 and finally in Leyton aged 78.
I believe she died in Q2 1878 in West Ham.

Any help on finding her parents would be greatly appreciated.

Mike (& Diddy),
thanks both for your efforts. I reckon I'll get across to Melton at some stage and stop in at Kirby Bellars too.

However, and I'm not sure how this forum works, you can flag this as Completed.

Best Regards
Blueowl.

Mike,

many thanks for the last post. I'm fairly new to this lark, so apologies if these are dumb questions !

Assuming this is 'my' James, I've checked the following for his birth/christening (as I have no idea of the names of his parents) :
freereg
the Church of LDS www.familysearch.org site which Diddy referred me to. This one lists a James' baptism on 22/4/1789 at St Marys Leicester. Date not bad, but Leicester, not Melton or nearby.

Any other suggestions to locate his birth/baptism record? His 1841 census record says he was born in Leicestershire. He lived/possibly died in Melton but married in Gt Dalby.

What in your experience is the chance of his gravestone being present & legible if I visited Melton? It may contain some family member information ......

Are the burial records available in image form anywhere on the www?

Hello, and thanks for the quick responses.

Yes I found records from FreeBMD of the two deaths in 1842 and 50.
Thanks for the 'extra' three siblings of Frances which I hadn't looked for - is that a searcheable site you can tell me or is it the one in your later post?
I had seen some Eye Kettleby Palmers, but wasn't sure of any link. Could be my James ! Will check out the freereg link.

Many thanks.

I am trying to track a James Palmer possibly born in Melton Mowbray around 1791 and died between 1841 and 1851.

He married a Frances Pears at Great Dalby on 14/1/1813 (marriage record show him coming from the Parish of Melton Mowbray. In 1841 he was living in Melton Mowbray (aged 50).  In 1851, Frances was a widow. They had 2 children that I know of Elizabeth (aged 20 in 1841) and Frances (aged 15 in 1841).

Many thanks.  Blueowl
