Sorry the Katie / Catherine Duffy I am looking for lived at 44 Bray Street in Belfast before and after she had the child. The house was leased to a Patrick Duffy a motorman - this may be her brother.

Katie had the child in July 1916 at 111 Ormeau Road. She then stayed at 44 Bray street for a few mths before taking the child to St Joseph's on the Ravenhill Road to be fostered out. The child was sent to a family in Aghagallon. The mother katie went to aghagallon with the child in a car driven by her brother (unusual for the time unless you were a "motorman").

The mother was orginally from Keady and the only Katie with possible Patrick connect i can find are the family in Darkley.

The child was named Kathleen Loftus Duffy. The family was told the father was Loftus and was a solider - this fits an Edward Loftus from Dublin who was boarding in Keady at the time.

Armagh / Katie Duffy 1895 Keady

I am looking for some information on a Katie Duffy born in Darkley in 1895.
On her birth cert John Duffy and Mary McLhern are down as parents (although it also states that grandmother was present).

However if you look at 1901 census John and Mary have Katie living with them but relationship is Grand-daughter.

I think Katie was in Belfast in 1916 and had a daughter Kathleen Loftus Duffy? Can anyone guide me on finding out more . . . . .

Apparently the mother Kathleen / Catherine Duffy went to 44 Bray street for a few mths after birth - initially she must have intended to keep baby. The family were always told that the father died in the war and that was why the mother couldn't cope. There is a Katie Duffy and an Edward Loftus in Keady in 1911 - mother was supposed to be from Keady. In Nov 1916 she was placed into st joseph's on the Ravenhill Rd and a Mrs Catherine Mckenna from 28 Cavendish st helped to place her with the family in Aghagallon. Where do i go from here????

Does anyone have any info on a Patrick McKenna Falagalloon Married to Minnie Quinn Fallea - think her father was Thomas Quinn a Grocer in Draperstown?? Born 1880's

Or on Patrick's brother John(law clerk) married a Mary McCotter (Kilrea)?

I think John and Patrick's father was a Paul McKenna from same area. Would records fall under Draperstown or Maghera?
