Hi Cando, my mistake (once again) re Ancestry.  Yes that is the photo of Frederick Fisher's son's grave.  I have no details of Frederick Fisher Snr. or his wife's Sarah Casey's headstone.  Although I must point out here that there were two Frederick Fisher's and two Sarah Casey's all from the same area, and this has caused quite a bit of confusion as you will realise.
Cheers Maggie

Hi Firstfleet
Saw your old post re the Fisher Family.  There is a Public Member Tree on Ancestry. Millane/Barry/Gallagher. Searched as Frederick Fisher b.1826 d. 1882. Spouse Sara Casey.
Click on their son Frederick m. Sara Wells.  there is a photo of his headstone.
Hope this helps.

Janette,
Thank you a million times.  I am not on FB but will register today.
I could not have done this without all the wonderful help from the Rootschat community.

Again, thanks so much.

I did a search through the State Library NSW, as you cannot get 1990 records from Trove, but it doesn't shed anymore light on the subject, as a matter of fact they had one of the daughter's names spelt wrong.  I would assume from that notice the daughters still live in Australia, but cannot search marriage records as later dates are not available.  I remember someone telling me that there was a storey about the family in one of our weekly magazines (sad storey), might have to e-mail the mags and see if they hold copies.
Thanks again

Hello Janette,
Thank you for the information. I did have a post regarding that, but no further information could be found.  I have e-mailed the Tauranga Council to try to find out if they have the name of the Funeral Director, maybe I might get lucky.  If I could recall just where in NZ he lived, I could do a search that way, but cannot recall.
Thanks again
Maggie

Thank you so much for your reply.
I have seen the headstone on Billion Graves, thought the Funeral Directors were Legacy Funerals, contacted them, but this was not the case.  The information you so kindly sent me does not have a Funeral Director listed, but maybe the clue would be "Morman", I do recall that Bruce and his family were in fact Mormans, will try to track the girls through that avenue.  The gravesite is right in the middle of houses, and I do recall that this land was sacred to his family, have tried searching that way, but again no luck. Have also tried to track them through a Maori Land Claim, but unfortunately another brick wall, as their addresses were not listed.  I do have quite a few photos of their father, and thought perhaps this might fill in some gaps for them, I would love to give them to his daughters.
Thanks once again

Thanks again, that information is so useful.  I can remember many moons ago visiting that little resting place which is sacred ground to the family.

Yes, you are right, I had the death date wrong, it was 1990 and I have already accessed the newspaper clipping through the National Library.  This is a bit of a sad storey, and I just thought maybe someone out there might have some information.  I have quite a few photos and, if I ever did make contact, thought it would be nice to give back to the family.
Probably think this is all too hard, but thanks again for your reply.
