Hello Amanda,

If you go to My heritage.com and look for the Crapper family tree, you will see my Heberley line. I also have a book on the German Heberleys, which goes back as far as is known in germany. Our line is from Wittenburg. If you have any problems getting to my site. let me know, and I will type it out for you. I have a lot of information and documentation on the life of James Heberley my Whaler forebear and his life in NZ .  He married a maori girl and settled in NZ.  His diary is in the NZ national Library.  I have a copy.

I am writing a novel using some of the research material that I have gathered on him and his children, grandchildren etc.

Best regards

Hi Gerry,

Sorry no connection, my hebberley was a sailor on the wrong side in the Napoleonic wars.  A kindly English capiton pulled him out of the water, and took him home, where he married the daughter of his saviour.  Good story  isn't it!!

England / CRAPPER & STRATFORD
« on: Saturday 05 March 11 05:34 GMT (UK)  »

Hello all,
I am hunting the CRAPPER family pre 1630  in Oxford, and Lancashire.
STRATFORD  family pre 1700 in Northamptonshire.

I am keen on gathering any very early mentions of these names in England.
8)I think that my Stratford line came from Stratford on Avon.
