Hello all!

We currently live at Nook Farm, Wootton. We are aware of the Salt Family history - and clevercat - it looks like you have a photo of our House :-)

Does anyone have any photos they could send us - or any requests for information about the House or Wootton?

Steve

I have most of the info. for Sarah and John Wesley family but have not been able to find anything about who John Wesley (1799) parents where.  Their son John born in Halifax we don't know when they immigrated or where to if he was born in Halifax, England, Halifax, Nova Scotia or there is also Halifax's in the U.S.  Thought it might be in the States as his sister was born in the U.S. but have found no documentation.

Mary Jane Youngs is my g g grandmother.  Young was her second marriage, 1st  marriage to Jacob Nelson in 1850 Ontario Canada.  I have been able to trace John and Sarah family once they came to Canada.

Thanks for your info.

Should have added Sarah's parents John Gibbons born 1865 and Jane Robinson  before 1780 both died after 1816.  Married 1798 Hamsterly.  No record of John Wesley's parents.

England / Jacob Nelson born abt 1822, British Navy??

Story has it he was impressed into the British Navy.  Jumped ship at the Straights of Magellan and made his way to Canada settling in Ontario.  Born about 1822 according to 1851 Canada census.  Question is, is there anywhere you can find info. out about people being impressed into the British Navy?

Married Mary Jane Wesley Mar. 1850 Ontario, no parents name listed on marriage.  No place of birth on census either.  1861 cenus shows Mary as widowed.  So only going by what has been passed down from family to family.

Hi Beryl

Thanks for replying.

Yes William Salt Harrison is my great grandfather.  I don't have a firm date around 1857  when they came to Canada but settled in Mitchell Ontario, where 6 more children where born two died in infancy and one I have not been able to trace.  David died in 1870 Mary in 1899. William, and his brother Matthew and George came to Manitoba about 1879.   Mary the sister came later.  Also Mary Salt also came to Manitoba. They settled around Holmfield MB.

Be very interested in any info that you have on the Salt's
