Cambridgeshire Lookup Requests / Re: Waterbeach Mill, Cambridge Road.

My ancestors, the Youngmans, lived at and worked the Waterbeach Mills from around 1814 until 1870s. The corn mill was still standing at the time of the 1886 map, but was shown as disused in 1902. The mill was worked by John, Robert and John Stacey Youngman in turn. They were also farmers and corn merchants and at one time lived in Waterbeach Lodge.

Thanks Elvina,

I've not tried using Sfk material before - all mine are Nfk/Cambs - do you know if there are any records online or any other ways of accessing them short of going to Ipswich which I am unable to do??

Taa, sally.

Suffolk Lookup Requests / Bungay lookups - GIL(L)
« on: Monday 28 February 11 15:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

Please could you look to see if there are any references to GIL or GILL in Bungay between 1650 and 1660.

I am interested in the family of NATHANIEL GIL, rector of Burgh-next-Aylsham who spent the Commonwealth years in Bungay. He and his wife were having children before they left Burgh. I also wonder if his wife, MARY GIL nee Stone, might have died there.

Thanks, Sally.
