It certainly is a small world!

On Tuesday J M mentioned Roundwood...a place of great memories, of all school holidays spent with members of my family who lived there
Yesterday Henry John Brownrigg of Wicklow my 3rd Gt Grandfather listed with Halpins.

Meanwhile I am supposed to be researching my husband's family tree. Halpins etc

That sounds reasonable. It all gets so confusing. I was sure that I had come up with the name earlier. I stand corrected,

If Mark HALPIN and Mary PAGET  only married in 1750.
How did Lieut PAGET HALPIN get his name if he was born in 1740?
Surely it's reasonable to think  that it is a combination of their names or have I missed something!

The name PAGEZ (Paget !)was recorded as being that of a Huguenot soldier in Co. Laois in the 1600's. Once again I have mislaid the source but still trying to find it.

Ken
Can you confirm if Henry Cope Sweeney is the son of John Sweeney, brother to Eugene (1752)  who was b abt 1753
If so he married a Katherine Alice Cope daughter of Henry Cope of Castlegal Co Sligo  about 1774

Cecil Talbot Harding b after 1910 was the uncle of D L Walker & siblings.
son of Alfred Paget Harding and  Wilhemina Dawson.of Dublin
 Cecil died as an infant.

Trying to find a connection with his middle name of  Talbot I found the following information.

1.   JOSEPH THOMAS TALBOT   Male
      Birth:  12 NOV 1867   , Dublin, Ireland
      Parents:
      Father:  THOMAS TALBOT  Family
      Mother:  MARY ANNE HALPIN

2.   CLARA MATILDA TALBOT Pedigree
Birth:  25 JUL 1867   0513, Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
      Parents:
      Father:   WILLIAM HENRY TALBOT  Family
Mother:  GEORGINA MATILDA SWEENY  (sister of Emily Sweeney)

CONCLUSION
Cecil is the  grandson of Emily Harding nee Sweeney and therefore the grand nephew of Georgina Matilda Talbot nee Sweeney.

Hi Ken
Re Andrew Yeates and Mary Holmes.
 I have 5 other children attributed to them;
John 1760, Richard 1772, Anne 1774, Thomas 1780 and Jonathon 1770.

I also have a Thomas b.  1802 Parents Samuel and Mary Ellen Yeates.

They are all on the IGI.
What is your view on this?

Have you been on Dublin Heritage site. Lots of B M D but no more than we have I think.
Another site named Eugene Sweeney in 1842 as a Churchwarden at Crumlin Parish Church. I presume it was Eugene of 1785.

Regards
Maureen
