Westmeath / Castletown Deloem?
« on: Friday 04 March 11 05:22 GMT (UK)  »
Has anyone ever heard of Castletown Deloem, County Westmeath?  I found a naturalization record for my ancestor and that is his listed origin.  I'm assuming it is an error.  Any suggestions for what he meant?

Thanks!

Westmeath / Re: Keegan/Clarke

Hello,

I am also searching for Keegans, but I am not entirely sure if they are from Westmeath or Kildare.  My relatives came to the US between 1842 and 1860 (New York) but they were Lawrence Keegan (Born ~1800) and Bridget Keegan (Born ~1810).  Their children were Patrick (b1830), Lawrence (b1832), William (b1834), Margaret (b1836), Mary (b1838), and Catherine (b1842-d1933).  Do any of these names sound familiar?

Thanks!

Kildare / Re: Allen parish- Martin

Hi CLT,

I'm wondering if my Martin family and your Martin family might be related.  I've been told that my relatives William Martin and Elizabeth McGovern Martin were from either Carbury or Derrinturn which I know is about 18 km from Allen.  I don't know dates for them, but they had at least one son named Dennis Patrick Martin born 14 Apr 1834 who immigrated to the US in 1866.  Have you come across these names before in your research?

Thanks!

Kildare / Martins in Carbury or Derrinturn
« on: Monday 21 February 11 04:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi everyone,

I am new to RootsChat and have just finally discovered where my family came from in Ireland.  I am looking for help in searching for William Martin and Elizabeth McGovern who were likely from either Carbury or Derrinturn.  I don't know the dates of their birth or death, but I do know they had a son (my great great grandfather) born 14 Apr 1834 who immigrated to New York in 1866 and died in White Plains, NY 24 Apr 1914.  I believe that William and Elizabeth remained in Co. Kildare where they died and were buried.  If you have any leads please contact me!

Thanks!
