Hi Catherine

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately she is not listed in my research and I have been taking a break with the Visser side, I am missing one generation up, from there I can trace the Vissers back to the arrival in SA. I find that if I take a break for a while - I often hit the jackpot later :-)

Please let me know if and when you start the Visser side and I will be happy to share any information.

Kind Regards

Cherece

Searching for the grand (and possibly great grand) parents of Hester Cecilia VISSER born cir 1836 and passed away in Vogelgenaas, Britstown on 5 Mar 1920 - her parents are listed as Hendrik and Johanna VISSER (no other details are known.  I am trying to link her up to another tree that I can trace to 1713 and this info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks :-)

Hi Everyone

I am new, so this is my first post of what will probably be a bunch.

I am currently stuck on the Burger side of my family tree - I have been working off death notices mainly, but have come to a standstill at the father of Johannes Phillipus (spelt fillipus in his death notice) Francois BURGER.  On JPF BURGER was born in the Western Province cir 1834 and passed away in Nooitgedacht, Prieska 1899 - his father is listed as Johannes Abraham BURGER and his mother as Maria Johanna nee VAN DER MERWE - the problem that I am having is that I have come across two different death notices for JA Burger's that have married MJ van der Merwe's - both around the same times as well, which is really confusing me.

The other problem is that JPF's name does not appear on any of these potential parents death notices although his name has been misspelt in almost every document that I have found of him so the possibility is that he could be linked with one of these death notices but that his name could have been misspelt AGAIN! His names have varied from just Jan Burger to Abraham to Fillipus and sometimes everything combined.

If anyone out there can assist me with the link - I would be SOOOO grateful!!!
