Hi there!
I know this discussion was a while ago but I wonder if anyone can help! I am trying to remember the name of a cake shop in Whitehaven that, coincidently, MY Grandma worked in as a young girl! She told me the name of the shop many a time but it now escapes me, though I think I would recognise it if I heard it. Anderson's doesn't ring a bell though, although I seem to think it was a surname, possibly beginning with "E". She left the shop when she was 17, which would have been around 1920.
Another coincidence Lincsbabe, is that a family called McGuirk moved in to the house my Grandma's family moved out of in Harrington! I wonder if they are the same family!!
