Hello Karen,

There was a story that a boy named Cox of Killeen went to battle of Tara in 1798.
When he did not return his mother became very upset and eventually the neighbours told her he had been killed. So, she went to the Hill of Tara and searched for his body. She found him but an English soldier threatened to shoot her. Lord Fingal (who knew the family) intervened and allowed her to obtain a shroud for her son. He was the only one of the poor croppies buried in mass grave on Tara.

Also there were Cox,s in Dunsany/Killeen until recently.

Hi, I too am searching for the same records. My family are Webb of Killeen. Have got records from 1796 onwards until present time.(more or less.) but the ones you mention are not to be found.
If you look at N.L.I site. (Catholic Registers) it looks as these particular ones are simply unreadable.
The Mahon family go back a long way in Killeen and are still around.

I have heard of D,arcys of Hyde Park but not your story. George D,arcy was the last (I think) of the name to live in Hyde Park.My mother always said she was related to D,arcys. She was born in Raharney Westmeath and her grandmother was Anne D,arcy. Annes father and grandfather were both Matthew D,arcy. The story was one married a Catholic named Anne Daly and was disinherited from family. I have never been able to verify this story.Hope this may be of some interest toyou.

Forgot to add Webb were still at Coate Cottage, Draycott,Wiltshire 1800,s. Am trying to find proof of connection between Dean Noah Webb Dunshaughlin andGeorge Webb Killeen Dunshaughlin. The missing piece is from 1700-1740. Got the rest to present day.

Go to Draycott,Wiltshire on net. Lots of info. Richmond Webb. There was Noah ,Coate Cottage,Draycott, Wiltshire (son of Danie) who came to Ireland (1672) died  (1696) as Dean of Dunshaughlin and Rathregan Meath. Married Deborah Patten of Down Ireland. 6 children. Lived at Dunshaughlin where he inherited land from his uncle. His son Henry inherited from him.Married Mary Woods.Their son Noah married Methabelle Daloway of Co. Antrim. Their son Noah married late in life Caroline Benning. He inherited land from his uncle Marriot Daloway, Carrickfergus and went to live there. 9 children. I believe I am descended from another son of original Noah, but I am missing vital infor. from 1700-1740. I still live in Dunshaughlin area. Hope this is of help.
