« on: Friday 18 November 11 19:24 GMT (UK)  »
If you all say that Michael is not named Ochiltree, but that he is of Ochiltree Village, what would be his surname ?

When did the Ochiltree family come into being and what would there name have been and spelled ??  It seems as tho no one has a surname only they are ::de-Ochiltree"""

if Michael was sired by the king.,,,,what would his name be ?  No matter if he was, surely there is a surnam of people...How would I research in the 1200 late ???

All I am able to locate is :: De Ochiltree....

Thanks..

Armagh / Re: Ancient Ireland Ochiltree or MacUchtrie ?
« on: Saturday 24 September 11 17:02 BST (UK)  »
Thank you so much for all your asistance and I know it really sound jumbled. The other family members seem to think that the Renfrew is wrong and that our line is an ancient original line of the Lennox family in Ireland before they ever went to Scotland to live.

I understand there are three lines, one in Ireland, one in Scotland and one in England.  These are all under different spellings, like, MacAughtrie, etc..The name as we know it know was anglicized by Duke of Argyll in 1400 ca...from Mac Uchtre of Gall to Ochiltree..

I may not be able to decipher all the names but I thank you for your diligence...

Armagh / Ancient Ireland Ochiltree or MacUchtrie ?

This is the second generation of my Ochiltrees from Ireland, I am searching for the parents or grandparents of this family.  They would have been in the Ulster Plantation with Good Lord Ochiltree, possibly back to Scotland by 1745 then on to America by the time of the American Revolutionary War...They would have landed in MD, VA, Ohio or DELaware...The three brothers would be Alexander, Matthew and Michael.

I would really appreciate look ups and I thank you.

1.              ii.          Archibald BUTTER was born 8 Nov 1768, was christened 17 Nov 1768 in Moulin, PER, SCT, and died 3 Jul 1805. He married Vere MENZIES 7 Jun 1803 in Weem, PER, SCT, daughter of Robert MENZIES and Catherine OCHILTREE. She died Jan 1847.

This family is in the Crichtoun lineage also.

There are living descendants of the Butters....I am researching for another person so it is a bit difficult but they are requesting LIVING ancestors of this couple and I think they may be in the Perth area, but I am not sure...How can I find the living ancestors of today ? one of the children go into the Murray line but I don't know how to recover the names of the now living ...can you all advise me ?

The original Duncan Ochiltree was in North Caroline from Argylle or Glasgow in 1739 but went back to Scotland ..

Thanks..

Thank you for all that information....Sir Aan, began his transaction in the 1300 dat but he did not get his court summos in to  be at Pariment at the designated time..He was going to go back to the registrar in one week from that appointment day, However, he had to join the forces at Halidon Hill and did not go back.as he died on the battlefield...The King on the battle field told him he would take care of the transaction and see to it the name was changed and registered...two hundred years after the fact.

Thanks..

Argyllshire / David & John OCHILTREE
« on: Tuesday 26 July 11 22:31 BST (UK)  »
I am searching for David and John Ochiltree who made a loan to a William Lyndsay, April 25, 1665...also, Duncan Ochiltreee or Ocheltree is granted a wadset of land, June 14, 1678.  Also,a deed to David Ochiltree, brother to Allan in Killmune ..Ref NO RS10/01/379 and lastly in 1691, Duncan was mentioned in the deed as well.and he had been a Merchant...

The Vchiltre, Uchiltre, Ochiltree were in the service of the Campbells and of the Royal Court from 1373 thru 1691.

In 1739 a David and a Duncan arrive in US in Carolina. They each are vested in land and become politicians.  Duncan is one of the original signors of the Declaration of Mecklenberg,SC..in 1775., He was also a Mason...he disappears from Mecklenberg or the area of Campbelltoun never to know again in America....

I have searched many rolls and the LDS records and there are no records of a death ..

If anyone can find these people..please let me know.  My great grandmother was an Ochiltree/Ocheltree..

Thanks...
