I wonder if the census information's from Ancestry. If so, it may have been mistranscribed. The best thing to do would be to go on scotlandspeople & look for William's death & also the childrens births.Once you view the certificates all will be revealed! Good luck,
flst

Norma, Do you know if there is a death certificate for William Hadden? I thought the other children would be named Begg? and that Jessie ann was the only child from William Hadden. Still, I am sure it will all come together soon.
Thanks.
Norma

Hi
On Jessies marriage to James Winten who did she name as her parents?
Were these the same on her 2nd marriage and death cert?
Norma
Hi!Thanks Susan, I have managed to find the marriage certificate of Jessie Ann Hadden and James Winten. James died, and Jessie Ann re-married. I am still trying to piece things together but I think Jessie Ann was born in St Nicholas, however most likely she was staying with other family members as her mother seems to have re-located when she re- married.
Are you sure of the spelling? Perhaps it could be registered as Winton. Have you tried looking for them in the 1911 census? That would tell you where she was born.
Susan
