I think that Mair  is down as LEWIS in the 1861 census with her brother EDWARD entered as CLEASON
ELIZABETH WILLIAMAs  entered as unmarried born 1829 all on TROEDRHIWSEIRI CENSUS
The only record of a marriage between a  EDWARD CLEATON OR CLAYTON to a ELIZABETH WILLIAMS is Jan Feb March 1869 at ABERYSTWYTH VOLUME 11B PAGE110
Hope this information is of use malval

You had me thinking why John Williams became to farm Argoed Fawr ? something to do with the  Pryse  who had the estate of Gogerddan in Penrhyncoch . Has some of the farm land been used for th Gorddu Wind Farm which is now very near Argoed Fawr??
Have been doing some homework Issac Davies in 1871 census was a servant at Penybank  Trefeurig with a John Rowlands who was a farmer, married to a Rebecca and Isaac married their daughter Anne at Aberystwyth in 1872 they had a daughter Rebecca  born in 1873
Hope  this information is of some use

Jane Williams lived at TROEDRHIWSEIRI and Owen Davies lived in Borth when they married  on the 15Nov 1867. In 1871 census ELIZABETH JANE born  1868( my great grandmother ) and Catherine born 1870 lived at Bank Tirmynach. Mary Anne was born in 1872 and lived at Bank.
By 1881 census Jane was a widow and worked as a lead ore dresser she is buried at Llanilar Church Yard.? Owen died whilst working in the coal mine in S Wales
Elizabeth Jane married a Morgan Parry and are buried at Llanafan Church Yard
Catherine married  a Lewis James  and are buried at Llanilar Church Yard
Have no infomation on Mary Anne
Hope this information is useful
