Ma cara, thank you for your great effort.
A fine example of the Rootchatter Awesome Restoration Artists or the RARA's.

How good are you people with restorations I have been watching for a while now. So may I ask for some treatment particularly as my grandad appears to have major acne. He died in his late 30's around 1932 so is his attire common for that time?

Thank you for whatever you can achieve.

Tony

This has been emailed to me by a distant relative updating my original post.

Robert Young born 1811 Scotland died in 1870 in Sydney, Australia
Robert's father Charles an Inn keeper in Fife, married a Penelope Pousty middle of 1798. I now have a Penelope Pousty born 23/6/1779. Charles is supposed to be born in 1775 father William Young and Janet Young in Cupar.

Hi NorrieG,
I only have hand scribbled notes passed down to me from a distant aged relative who thinks she has a photographic memory. Unfortunately nothing seems to be what it should be to date.
I quote now;
Robert Young born 1811 Scotland died in 1870 in Sydney, Australia
Robert's father Charles and Inn keeper in Fife, married a Penelope Pousty middle of 1798. I now have a Penelope Pousty born 23/6/1779. Charles is supposed to be born in 1775 father William Young and Janet Young in Cupar. That is all I know. I am about to add this to my post as an update.

Dear NorrieG,
Could you provide the MI details for,

104   William Young   died 1816 age 55
please?

I believe William Young had a grandson Robert Young b1811 who went to Australia and died in OZ in 1870.

I am hoping he is the William married to Janet Young (maiden name I believe) although you never know! Thanks Tony

Thanks again, I see what you mean. I have never considered wife dying and remarriage. Already starting from absolutely nothing I have something to kick me along. I am so grateful for your help. Thank you CaroleW

Brilliant - thanks a lot - I started to reply and it said there was another message coming. So thank you for both.

I have now been looking at the LDS site and found a Charles Young christened 12 May 1775 father William and mother Janet in Cupar. o this somewhere I should be looking obviously. Thanks again, Tony

Fife / Young Pousty Durkie

My great grandfather Robert Young was born in Scotland about 1811 I know not where. He died in Australia in 1870.
I am trying to trace family back from Robert. His father was Charles, an innkeeper in Fife and married a Penelope ? My father used to say he thought it was Pousty, Pouty or something like that and her mother was a Durkie. I have looked at Scotlands people, but, they charge for searches and I am not sure if I am even on a track that could lead anywhere. So before I start paying, which I don't mind, any help to get me going would be thankfully received. Thanks, Tony
