I agree with you BumbleB, any hobby costs money.

In order to do Family Research I save up so as to be able to pay for certificates & other records & to subscribe to my preferred geneology site.
For many years I would save up my loose change so as to be able to purchase the many BMD certificates, it's not difficult.

It would cost me a LOT of money to have to visit the various places to view the records, whereas thanks to those who make searching a LOT of records (at a cost I might add) much easier I can do my research in the comfort of my own home.

My other hobby is Crosstitching & I have spent much more money to enable me to do that than I have paying for BMD's etc.

I have only ever suscribed to BRITISH records on FindMyPast, but have been given 3 extra days on THIS occassion! but probably only because I complained about the constant free weekends!
I did not get the extra 3 days added automatically!

FindMyPast team didn't mention to me that ALL subscribers would be getting the extra 3 days!
I was told I would be given the extra 3 days because basically "I wasn't happy" about yet another free weekend!
Seems to me they are making it up as they go along!

Yes it has been rather dissappointing that when FindMyPast do release Parish records most have been only transcriptions & not the actual images!
I realise there are a lot of records out there, but transcriptions are not "quite" the same, I have  mostly YKS ancestors I really love seeing the various Baptisms/Marriages/Burial images that FindMyPast have made available & have found many showing my past family, patiently waiting for the images for the Northumberland area, in the hope that FindMyPast are going to add them to their collection & not leaving it at the transcriptions only!

I would be willing to pay more for my subscription IF there were more in the way of actual PR images.

I am a LONG time subscriber to FindMyPast I have had an extra 3 days added to my FindMyPast subscription BUT ONLY because I emailed them re a moan about yet another free weekend to the site!!

It would seem that some FindMyPast subscribers got an automatic 3 extra days added to their subscription I had to make a complaint before any extra time was added!

I am not against FindMyPast offering free weekend access but I don't see why long time subscribers should "lose out" & certainly unfair to only give extra days to SOME subscribers!!

Hello Crisane,
My word yes, that is where we lived at the time,so the probate record is the right man,but he most definately did not die in 1964!

Thankyou for that extra bit of information,i didn't have that, much appreciated.

Hello Andy.

I agree the death certificate does seem to be the one I want, just really puzzled by the death date/year.
To put you in the picture with regards to my certainty regarding his death being in 1963...
I was 16 & had just met my 1st boyfriend (hubby to be)in the August that year, first date being the 18th of August lol,he was 21 in the November of that year,so I know I have not made an error with the year
My step father died approx 7 or 8 weeks before my hubby & I met, thats why I don't understand if the 1964 JHP is my man where those dates come from.
It was very good weather at the time of his death (certainly not winter weather) he was laid out in our front room, open coffin,I attended the funeral.

We didn't get on & I have to be honest & say I have always regarded 1963 a very good year for me!!

Thankyou for your reply.

Joan.
