Adam

Many thanks for your speedy reply, unfortunately, the search   was unsuccessful.   For some reason the 1891 census will not reveal anything about the family I am looking for, guess I must keep looking

Once again many thanks for your help.

Hi Mo

Many thanks for your look-up, yes this is my John Rowlands and family, Thomas was my Great Grandfather.  A few surprises as to the Welsh connection, though I had a feeling it maybe , just through looking at trade directories for Liverpool.

As to Thomas Clarke Garry, my Great-grandmother was his daughter, Annie Craige Garrry, she would have been about 14 in 1871 and was born in Harrington, Cumberland.  In 1878 she married Thomas Rowlands and the Shakespeare  Street address is on the Marriage certficate.  I know from trade directories that there was a Thomas Clarke Garry in Harrington 1829 who was a ship owner, however I am not sure if he was another generation back, or my great- great-grandfather was much older when my great-grandmother was born.

I have just come across a death entry for a Thomas Garrey aged 78 for June 1871, so perhaps this may have been him. or Thomas Clarke Garrey the Ship Owner,

once again many thanks for your help, it was so kind of you.

regards

Cathal.

Hi
Just read your web-site re family in Cork.

We have ancestors from Cork named Farasey? sometimes spelt Farrisey.  The family lived in Queenstown - Michael and Bridget, were great/great grandparents. Does this ring any bells!   I would appreciate any information you have on the Farrisey family.

kind regards

Cathal.

Hi, can ??? anyone help me? I have just traced a branch of my family to Harrington in Cumberland, and I need some more information, Thomas Clarke & Ann Garry, shipowner. m 1811 in the Parish of Harrington.  Also I believe he had a Son also Thomas Clarke Garry whose daughter Annie Craig Garry was born in 1857.  Son Thomas was a master mariner, any information on this family would be a great help.

many thanks

Cathal
