Just wondering whether you've noticed as a matter of interest that in 1901 Alfred E Twist was the 15 yr old son of Alfred and Jane Taylor's neighbour Emily Twist?

1901: RG13/560/73/36.

Yes, its the same person, the 1911 census record states them as being married for 4 years, but I've yet to find any marriage record

By 1939 they were probably married.  Have you looked on freebmd for marriages?  You will struggle given that Taylor is a very common surname

If either died 1969 onwards their full D o B should be shown on the death reg

You could try searching for Elizabeth/Jane/Jen** deaths with those birthdates then try matching the death surname with a marriage to Taylor

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried to cross reference Jane & Elizabeth with the same DoB's in the 1939 register and Marriages, but have draw a blank, same with deaths after 1969.

That sort of says to me they died before 1939, I'll go back and check the BMD records.

cheers

Scott

There was an older daughter as well called Alice Taylor born 1900.
regards.

Alice is my Grandmother, she married Henry Edwards in 1917 and moved from London to Leeds, its at this point she lost track of her sisters, she tried looking for them after the the second world war but could never track them down.

Hi

I'm looking for any help with any information about the following two people ...
Elizabeth Taylor b 8Th March 1901, Forrest Hill.
Jane/Jennie Taylor b 27Th December 1905 Greenwich.

Mother Jennie Peters b 1876 in Manchester, D 1917 Camberwell
Father  Alfred Taylor b 1874 West ham, D 1907 Greenwich

What I've found out so far is that after Alfred died Jennie Lived with Alfred Twist and had 6 more children. When Jennie Died in 1917, the Twist family moved to the Hastings area, but Elizabeth and Jane did not go with them. I do know that Jane was admitted to Lewisham workhouse on the 18Th June 1918 and then discharged to Intermediate Schools Wandsworth on the 21 June 1918.

I've tried searching the 1939 Register, but have come up blank.

I guess my question is where do i go next?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi Scott,

there are more than 40 Gerngroß living in the area around Magdeburg (14 in Bitterfeld).
Had Otto been Lutheran?

Not far from Alttann, there are living 10 Gerngroß families,
but they should be Roman-Catholic.

There are more than 65 Gerngroß families around Nürnberg,
their ancestors might have been Lutheran, Roman-Catholic or Jewish.

We have about 600 Gerngroß and not more than 15 Gerngross /  Gerngros persons in Germany. Gerngroß and Gerngross is the same name.

Best regards
Rudolf

Hi Rudolf

The Altans given in the census listing was Altona Hamburg and Magdeburg is Mecklenburg.

The Gerngross' i'm researching came from Northen Prussia. The towns i've found on various documents are Kladow, Grabow, Hanseberg & Soldin.

thanks for you help

Hi Scott my GGF is also Otto, my GF Kenneth & Great Aunt Ginny. My Auntie tells me he was forced back to Germany & that he and members of family killed helping the resistance there. Regards Mark

Hi Mark

I've only just found your post, Ginny was my Grandmother, I know Otto was interned during the first world war. He returned to Germany after the war, where he remarried and had at least two sons. That is all i've managed to find out. The resitance story sounds interesting do you have anymore information?

Cheers

Lincolnshire / Boston Address Help Needed
« on: Monday 12 December 11 22:20 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

I've just received the birth certificate for my great grandmother Edith Bond who was born in Boston Lincolnshire in 1892.

The information on the certificate gives the place of birth as ...

6 Borland's Court Boston U.S.D

Her mother was Annie Bond a domestic servent who live at the same address.

Her father is not listed.

I've done census looks up on findmypast and ancestry but have not been able to locate 6 Borland's Court in any of the available census years.

Does anyone have information about 6 Borland's Court or know where I can find any information?

thanks in advance

Scott
