World War One / Re: Richard Anders Sgt Kings Liverpool Regt

Fascinating and some of the information fits in well. Helena and Richard seperated, when I do not know. Richards and Helenas offsprings Alice and John were both brought up by their grandparents in St Helens, 1911 census shows him residing with his grandparents aged 3. Helena continued to manage and own pubs in the Liverpool and New Brighton area well into the 1950's. They never divorced. Richard moved back to St Helens but when, I do not know. Whether Richard moved to Bagot St I do not know.
At this time I do not feel that Catherine Anders is part of the puzzle, but of course who knows what mysteries get thrown up. Richard was definetly back in St Helens by 1939, occupation down on sons wedding cert shows him working at glass works.
Many thanks for your hard work and input, it really is most appreciated. I hope you have a informative and enjoyable whilst in Liverpool, many thanks Ray

He only had the one christian name, Richard.  Richard did have a brother John but do not know his wifes name. He came from quite a large family, eleven brothers and sisters.

World War One / Richard Anders Sgt Kings Liverpool Regt

Wondering how, if possible to tie in  Richard Anders on the 1911 CENSUS living at 6 Low HiLL, Liverpool. He would have been of age for enlistment during WW1, but he was married with two children. Bar Manager [Coach an Horses] don't think this would have been reserved occupation. The  Medal roll shows a RICHARD ANDERS, LIVERPOOL REGT Sgt 5503 and Y+L R 39736   Roll 0?/2/102 B18, any thoughts on how to find a home address for Sgt Anders or family names etc. The above details taken from Ancestry, Thanks

I missed Andrews post concerning the sighting in Fulham as a 6 year old visitor. The toing and froing between North and South would confuse someone later in life as regards stating 'birthplace' or as you say a relative or head of house  giving the place of birth for someone else.

Hi avm, yes it had crossed my mind about the marriage taking place outside of the area and wondered if, going by the Eileens surname  and the geographical area, Liverpool, if there was an Irish connection which would also help to explain the birth certificate difficulty.

I am wondering if I am looking at two Louis Henry's.  Puzzled by the wife EILEEN DORIS who uses her name on  the census 1911, second marriage and grave details. Whereas the 1901 census shows her down as ELEANOR D CLARENCE.  Also puzzled by the two different birth areas for Louis, London and York. Regarding the banns and then no trace of the marriage ceremony, would Eileen Doris put on herself down on her  second marriage certificate as a spinster or as a widow. These are all just thoughts and need of course checking out. But once again thank you for your input and signposts its been a great help.
