Hi

Researching my family have Grandfather James born 1910 of Susan Mc Kinley and Michael Mc Keown no birth record for either yet, have marraige 5/6/1902 at Forkhill RC which is Mullabawn has Susan from Anduff probably Aughanduff  her father was John Mc Kinley and I know she had a brother Michael McKinley.

James father was Michael Mc Keown and he was the son of Peter Mc Keown and Mary Hughes who were married Crossmaglen RC Church, Castleblaney District 26/02/1870 his Peters father was Henry and Marys father was Michael.

Any connections? or more info or where I should go next?

Thanks

Paul

I found reference to a henry mckeown in the same small townland prior to that so fits but new to me.

Just need to find a birth for peter and more details on Henry.

Any suggestions on where to search?

Paul

Never heard mention a henry in mckeown line, michael seems to repeat every second line naming first son after grandfathers? common in ireland.

Hi I am searching for Peter Mc Keown my great great grandfather listed as husbands father at my great grandfathers wedding in in 1902 witness is a stephen mackin.  He was from Dorsey sometimes spelt dorsy nr cullyhanna in creggan parish in cullyhanna little.  Mckeown drifts around in spelling to mckeon and mckeowne but aware that sometimes it can be written mackin as well, going on this the mckeowns of late 1800's arround dorsey do not appear at all in 1864 griffiths but suddenly there are mackins with the same first names... possible coincidence???? or ???

Moderator's Note- spearate thread on McKeowns if you can help with more details-

hello

31/7/1871 Michael McKeown, son of Peter McKeown/Mary Hughes, Castleblayney, Newtownhamilton, Co. Armagh

This is my great great grand father I had him down as about 1872 but have his marraige to Susan McKinley 5/6/02 which gives his father as Peter  then my grandfather James born 1910 and father Michael born 1945

So thanks to this I have his birthdate now need to look further back for mary hughes and peter mckeown.

Thanks

Paul
