London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Frank Hill
« on: Wednesday 12 January 11 04:34 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone please help me find Frank Hill,s grave, he was born 7th Sept 1916, and died July/Aug/Sept 1972.
All I know is he died in hospital and the death was registered in Fulham Ive no idea which cemetery, and unfortunetely Im up in yorkshire so cant just pop into the cemetery offices, but Im planning on coming to London for a weekend again really soon,so I can see the grave then,
I had been told he was buried in Wales, which Im annoyed about now,as Ive just spent New Year in London
and could of done the looking myself then,
The family seperated and hes not been talked about since he went to London, so its been very difficult getting information, I have been told there,s another woman buried with him, whose not the lady he married
in Wales,
Any help would be grealy appreciated,
thanks
Heather

p.s Mods, Ive just realised this is posted in the wrong place, so can someone put it in the right place for me thanks

Graveyards and Gravestones / Im very confused
« on: Friday 07 January 11 00:26 GMT (UK)  »
Ive noticed recently that you can only purchase graves for a maximum of 75 years, so why is it when you look round really old cemetary some graves are well over 100 years old and a lot are over 200 years old,
Is this quite a new thing for buriels nowadays, only allowing you to use the grave for a set amount of time ??

Does anyone know whats happening with Lambeth cemetary in tooting , a lot of it is fenced off, and it has a very strange atmosphere there nowadays

Im always very careful walking through graveyards, as Ive always thought it disrespectful walking on someones final resting place,
I used to think as a (strange ) teenager that I wouldnt walk into the persons house without being invited
and walking on the grave is walking onto their home without invitation,
