Nottinghamshire Lookup Requests / Re: AMOS BRADFORD 1906
« on: Thursday 24 January 13 16:46 GMT (UK)  »
Hiya Shaun,

Just seen your mail about Amos Bradford your grandfather.
I have lots of information regarding the family which I collated for my friend the late Barrie Bradford, Amos's son and presumably your Mum's brother. You can view all the family on my web site at www.brysy.talktalk.net but please do contact me via the email contact on the site and I can possibly help you or myself correct what appears to be confusion of Amos's Grandfather. I have his grandparents as Samuel and Jane Bradford.
Many hours of conversation with Barrie and my own research have convinced me that I was heading in the right direction, but of course I could well be wrong. Sadly Barrie is no longer with us to chat to. I believe the mystery lady you talk of being your Mums gran is Mary Matilda!

Please get in touch

Thanks Mary,

that is my guy James but I want to try to find his mother. I cannot find her in 1841 so I presume she died pre Census.

I also want to try and fix Samuel in the family.

I think parish records are the only thing that is going to help me though

regards

Hiya,

Can anyone help me with the parents of James Bradford born Heather abt 1831.

I think his father was John Bradford but don't have his mother.

I also think
His brother was Samuel Bradford born abt 1817 Heather
His sisters were Sarah born abt 1828 Heather
and Mary born abt 1825 Heather

All are purely just good hunches but I am pretty sure they are all one family but need proof and their mother's name if anyone can help me.

thanks to all helpers and a Happy New Year to everyone

Hiya Again,

I've just answered my own question kind of.

I have just been informed that Amos's Birth Cert says Mum's maiden name is given as Mary Matilda Goodall, nee Hall.
Sadly I nor the kind person who gave me the information can't find any record of their marriage in the normal searches.
Equally I cannot find mention of them as a married couple in 1901. I must presume they wed after 1901.
Can anybody enlighten me please.

Thanks in Advance

thanks Rian,

but I don't think that will give his mum's name will it? Pre 1912 etc.

I think his father was William

thanks for your efforts
