Hi Andrew not been in contact with you for a while as I lost my sister a year ago (78yrs), however I don't know whether you can help yet again as you did a splendid job on locating my grandad / grandmothers grave of which we cleaned up. My dilema now is finding my dads first wife's grave! Let me give you an insight into this. My father Otis Robinson Married Annie Elizabeth Peacock and they had two children D'Arcy Robinson & Connie Robinson (even though half they were always known to me as brother and sister) D'Arcy lived in Canada and died in 1972 quite young and my sister Connie was mentally handicapped and is the one that passed away last year in care at Rastrick. Annie Elizabeth Robinson (nee Peacock) died in childbirth with Connie that is why she was handicapped, then later my dad remarried that is where I came on the scene, I have no photos of my dads first wife nor do I know where she was buried I guess because of what happened  she was erased from memories as it was so sad!! So I would love to find where she was laid to rest if it is possible she died 2nd May 1933 and was born Oct 1898 I am quite willing to give you permission and access to my family tree if that would help on Ancestry all I need I believe is your email. Kind Regards and hope you are of good health. Patrick Robinson

World War One / Soldier on Guard at Chateau
« on: Thursday 06 January 11 23:56 GMT (UK)  »
I hope someone can help in tracing this soldier, I was asked by the owner of the chateau in the village where I live in Flers (nord pas de Calais) to re-enact a WW1 soldier as I am English at a garden party he was holding because there was an inscription scratched into a brick at the entrance obviously by a soldier on guard, the inscription is as follows :-

C R CALOW              FEB 10     1917

H    QUEEN’S             HQ GUARD

RWS RGT                19 CORP

I am sure his name was C.R.Calow and was in the Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment.
Any help would be extremely welcome as the owner of the chateau would love to trace the history of this soldier and possibly lead to any descendants so he could invite them over.

Many thanks

Pat

Hi everyone,
I really appreciate all your help so quickly,
Andy you have hit the nail on the head, my mistake really as it was my grandmother Ellen Robinson who died 27th May 1938 and my grandfather D’Arcy Robinson 15th February 1953 and possibly they are in the same plot? I am coming to Halifax in April  for my son’s wedding so hopefully I can see this grave again.

Regards

Pat (Patrick)

Just discovered this site so this is my first post, here goes! My grandfather I know is buried here and about 12 years ago I found it however a in June this year went to find it but it is so overgrown I could not find it can anyone help with location please. His details are D'arcy Robinson died May 27th 1938 apparently my father made the headstone due to lack of funds.
