Technical Help / Windows8
« on: Thursday 22 August 13 21:58 BST (UK)  »
Bought a new pc today using Windows 8 - had to use You tube to help know what to do!!!!
Sadly my PAF5's won't work on it and I downloaded the free version of Ancestral Quest but cannot read the notes I have put on PAF.
Anyone know what would be good to use instead so that I can read the notes from my PAF's? I do have the files backed up on CD's.
I didn't even realise that it was no longer in use - must have had my head burried in the sands!
Please don't get too technical with me!

The person who I hope it is - lived to be getting on for 95-100 years old. Interesting that you say about -lsh. It's been bothering me all night - I think the Walsh name appears on a marriage certificate as a witness somewhere. (might be totally wrong) I don't have it but when dad comes back from his hols that maybe a clue. Thanks

Hi CroxleyGreen

My reply is either 2a or 2b!! I have run out of ideas!!!!

The piece of paper that I have is a copy from a register made at a later date. In print it says - "true and correct extract from the Register of Baptisms kept at the above Church. -------------- 19...." Next to the 19 in pen is 43 (which I have only just noticed is a 4 as I thought it was "t")

I do not have permission from the owner to scan the document onto here sorry.
