Hi Liz. Thank you for your reply.I never met John but would love to have had the pleasure. I believe he did return to Irl after he left the Army but I think it was during the civil War here and it could have been dangerous for him to stay.I would love to hear anything you could tell me about John or perhaps his Family if that is possible. Thank you for Your replies but I think I might have misled You in my request.
I have his BAP cert also have him in the 1901/1911census but after that nothing positive. The info in my message I believe to correct also that he married but when /where /and to whom is one answer I would love to know. sorry for the mix up. bobsnr

Hi,
   I am hoping to find some info on my uncle John Dunne born in Kilkenny irl 1895. He joined the Army and was wounded and gassed on the Somme.He moved to Yorkshire after the War. The death cert gives place of death as N
Nazareth House,Park Rd North, Middlesbrough. Date 20/10/1983.    I wrote to that address but got no reply.Hoping someone can give me some info into his life. bobsnr

  May I suggest you download from wikipedia the article  Executions during the Irish civil war,also try and watch the film ,The wind that shakes the barley, it was on general release last year . Both of those will show the horrors of Civil War.
