Hi

Try Jamaican Family Search  website.

Depending on how far back you wish to research try the New Jamaica records on The Mormon Family Search site, this is a new improved part of this site and contains loads more records and images.

Hi Celia

I note you have listed a marriage in 1823 between James Derbyshire and Maria Evans, do you have any further info on this, ages or people in attendance.

many thanks

Hi

I am looking for a James Derbyshire Master Mariner who I assume worked out of Liverpool. I guess that he was born around 1775 and died before 1867. Not much to go on I know.  Married 1790 ish in Lancaster and one of his children baptised in Liverpool 1806  James is listed as master mariner on this parish record.

many thanks

not sure, I have so little to go on, as you know we all do a bit of guesswork. Maybe he changed jobs, not sure of wife's name either, think he may have married several times. only certain fact is he is listed on his sons marriage cert 1867 as deceased master mariner.
