Can anyone help me get a copy of a booklet written by Irene Anderson and titled Garvald, The Lairds, Tenants and Tradesmen. I don't know when it was written or who the publisher was.
Thanks
Sandra
Hi there,
Pretty sure we are working on the same family. Janet's parents names were listed on her death certificate.
This may be the birth of George Duncan (spouse of Janet Scott), but I have to determine for sure:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XYZZ-WHD
Name: George Duncan
Gender: Male
Baptism/Christening Date: 03 May 1761
Baptism/Christening Place: MONIMAIL,FIFE,SCOTLAND
Father's Name: Andrew Duncan
Mother's Name: Christian Chapman
Our George b circa 1761 married Janet Scott b circa 1760 in Fife.
I had found two children for them born in Cupar:
1) George Duncan b circa 1784 (Was living with sister Janet and her husband James Watson in 1861 census which was how I knew his name, dob and occupation.)
2) Janet Duncan

]b circa 1797 (I have Janet’s death certificate which lists her parents)
Janet Duncan married James Watson on 18 Nov 1820 in Cupar, Fife and they had:
1) Janet- presumably named after mum and grandmother
2) George- presumably named after both grandfathers
3) James- named after his father
4) Andrew- possibly named after gr grandfather if the above Andrew Duncan and Christian Chapman shown above are George's correct parents
5) John
6) David
7) Peter
Thanks, Eileen
