Wigtownshire / Re: MI's Kirkcolm Old Parish Churchyard

Interested in the mention of the McTeir family in the wigtownshire area, I have been tracing the family back on my fathers side 6 gen and reached as far back as 1871 with a date for a James McTeir born 1871 married to a Maggie Smith born 1871.
James McTeir's Father was John McTeir married to Elizabeth McCubbing but don't have any dates.
I would love it if someone could link them back to the brothers James and Andrew McTeir born 1732 buried in the Kirkcolm Old Parish Churchyard.
I found this all very interesting and appreciate any help that anyone can give.
My Father was George Smith McTeir one of eighteen of the McTeirs of Tweedhopefoot. will post a picture later.

Just came across the Postings re Peebles 1906, I have a old friend who has compiled all the shop keepers in Innerleithen as far back as he can obtain the records I will ask him for the info you were asking about, you could also try on the www.freecen.org.uk website for the census info available.
