My grandmother was Gladys Josephine Groves nee Jellett and grandfather Alfred Groves.
Wonder if anyone has photos of the Groves family and the family tree.  Thanks.

Hey LYNIE

I knew I would get lost here, tried to respond to your mail in my mail but could not.

Remember an Aunty Hilda but don't know anything about my grandfather or greatgrandfather (siblings).

My grandmother Gladys Groves  had 3 children:- Gordon (Sam) (Dec), Elsie Kathleen (Dec) and Beryl Lillian (my mum) who is 89.

I'm living in Queensland, Australia (we all grew up in Victoria).

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree. ;D

Hi there
Can anyone help.
My Grandfather was Alfred Gordon Groves 1891-1928 who died in Victoria, Australia.  My Grandmother was Gladys Josephine Jellett.
Alfred Gordon Groves' Father was Alfred Groves and not sure if Elizabeth Jones was his wife.
Toodles
Am having no luck with this today..let me complete the previous message:

Hello!

Great! This is the right family! I'm connected as MARY ANN FAIRBRASS was my great, great grandfather's (Thomas Loveday Fairbrass) sister.

I knew she married John Groves in 1846 and emigrated sometime before 1854. They settled , I believe, in Brunswick, Australia.

I have the following children listed:
Frederick                born 1850 London, England
William                   born 1854 Australia
Henry                     born 1857 Australia
George                   born 1861 Australia
Alfred                     born 1863 Australia
Joseph                   born 1865 Australia
Thomas Loveday    born 1868 Australia

although I did think, but as yet unproved, that at least one child named John was born before they emigrated.

That is the sum total of my knowledge of the family unit, I'm afraid!

I look forward to hearing from you.

Fliss (UK. Are you in Australia?)
