The information about him leaving Canada from Halifax came from his own story he began to write before he died.
His story & the information I have receieved about his early life do not match up.
It is all a mystery that I don't think I will ever know the truth.
he mentioned going to an airshow near where he lived & this inspired him to try & join the RCAF but he said they were not recruiting in 1937 but he was told by another person that he should go to England & join the RAF.

I have now discovered that my late father was taken in by an older couple in the late 1920s in Angmering Sussex. I was wondering if perhaps they took him to Baysville Canada but unfortunately I do not have a name for this couple. Is it possible to check if a couple emigrated  to Baysville from Angmering with a a young boy  at that time.

I have found out a lot about his family in Britain but it is the years he spent in Canada that remains a mystery. Before he died he began writing his life history. He states that his awareness of it began in1924 in Baysville. He said that his mother married a canadian soldier who was gassed in WW1 & that he died in 1926 or 27.He states that his mother died in 1936 & his grandparents in 1937 within a day of each other. None of this corresponds with British records stating his fatherdied in 1962 & his mother in 1965. I'm beginning to think he may have been sent to Canada & lived with another family.
