Thank you

I have used the surname search - when I have the time.

The Elizabeth Bellamy connection I had already picked up - from what I have found, she appears to be child number 12 of 15!

Derbyshire / Clayton family - Hartington, Burbage, Buxton

Hi

Is anyone researching the Clayton family of Hartington Upper Quarter (though may also record in Burbage or Buxton)?

I have only limited family records and great holes in the overall picture.  Unfortunately, my relatives who might know the story are now all deceased.

I have Ralph Clayton, born in about 1766 and who died in 1850.  His wife was Hannah.

However, I also have Sarah Clayton, born in about 1807, who had a daughter Martha Clayton (my g g grandmother).  However, I have no information on whether Sarah was the daughter-in-law, or the unmarried daughter, of Ralph Clayton.

Martha went on to have a daughter Anne Emily (later known as Annie) + 3 other children, but I am not aware that Martha ever married.

The family lived in Green Lane for several generations, and I remember the cottage as a child, though other records refer to living in Pooles Cavern.

If you are researching, I have information on some later (deceased) family members.

Warwickshire / Bellamy family - Solihull, Tanworth, Lapworth

Hi

While tracing various ancestors I am beginning to hit blocks.  Is anyone else researching the Bellamy family and has information on the following, or their children?  In the 1800s and early 1900s the family was living in Aston.

I have:
William Bellamy, born 1836, and married to either Emma Payling or Emma Taylor - the family records are inconclusive
Joseph Bellamy, born 1793 in Solihull, and William's father
Henry Bellamy, who I think was Joseph's father, and was born in about 1756 in or near Tanwoth(-in-Arden).
William Bellamy, about whom I have no further details, other than I think he was Henry's father.  At a guess, he would have been born somewhere in the period 18120 to 1835, and probably in the Tanworth - Lapworth - Solihull area.

If you are researching, I have more recent family information available on deceased members).

James Harvey, my great great great grandfather was born in August 1819, and married Elizabeth Miller in Poplar in July - September 1839 - Cas (Stallic has the same reference as me).  The censuses show a string of children (and birth dates are approx), James (1839/1840), Elizabeth (1841, but may have died before 10th birthday), Mary Ann (1843), William (1846/1847, my gggf), Jame 1848), Joseph (1850), Thomas (1852), Richard (1854/1855), Charles (1856/1857), and John (1858).

William Harvey's wife was Sylvia Malpass (on birth cert, not the various names shown in censuses).  Their son William Harvey (b 9 July 1875) married Annie Clayton in Bradford though her real name was Anne E Mycock).  Their daughter Sylvia Harvey was born on 21 July 1895 in Shipley, and her daughter is my mother.

Small world isn't it.  I have info on the Malpass family if needed, and limited info on James's cornish ancestors.
