Hello Debbie in BC,
I notice that you have the name "Murray" in your list. I have a Murray too, but have not started to research them as yet. I have a George Murray B. ca 1810 married to a Sarah Murray and a daughter of theirs, also Sarah, who married John Smith. Does this information coincide with yours at all?
Regards

Marie,
I got the information from the web site "Emerald Ancestors". I have commissioned a search for the McColgans by "Family Ulster.co." but they have not come back to me yet. If they do I'll pass on any information I get. It was either that or go across and spend some time searching. I'm in England but am a Scot , born just a mile or so from Duntocher. I have a photograph of Ellen with Hugh. Not sure of the date but I would guess a few years after they were married. If you want, I could get it to you.

Marie, Thank you very much for your information. It requires, as is often the case in Fam. Hist.,  that I look again as the track I have been going down diverges from yours!
If it works, I will try to add an attachment to this message with photocopies from the church records which I have related to the following information.

I have Mary Ann baptised in St Columba's Church, Parish of Templemore, Derry on the 13th of February 1844. The father is registered as Thomas Nellis and the mother Catherine Logue, Sponsors - John Nellis and Mary Hines. Also in the same record is this MaryAnn's brothers John (1847) and Thomas (1849). In the same record I have the marriage of Thomas Nellis and Catherine Logue - 11th June 1841 Sponsors - John Flynn and M Nellis.
As to your query about Hugh, I have drawn a blank. I wondered whether just Ellen came across to Scotland by herself to marry him, in which case he could have been born in Scotland and, perhaps had met her on a visit to Ireland.

Hello Marie,
I appreciate you getting in touch. The information you have given is new to me. I reallized, from Ellen's marriage certificate, that her mother was dead but could find no further details. I would really appreciate you letting me have any further details and, of course, I would happily share mine.
Regards
