Renfrewshire / Kerr MI - Completed

Hello

I'm looking for an MI in Hawkhead cemetery - Sophie Kerr, d. March 1906 (Lair no. 54, class 6, section D). If anyone happens to be strolling by with a digital camera or notebook, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks

P

Hello Sue

The 1943 electoral roll shows him as 'retired' of Middleton Beach - not much help re occupation, I'm afraid! I haven't found him on any other rolls.

There are also a couple of mentions of him in the newspapers (again, no occupation given):

Just a random thought about Qld Rail employees - for a long time I was stumped trying to find my wife's ancestor - an engine driver from Qld. Turns out he wasn't employed by Qld Rail but drove a cane train on a sugar plantation in Qld. Mining companies today have their own rail networks - don't know about Qld at that time, but could JH have been a miner and also involved in rail without being with Qld rail?
