Sorry Jim, yes it is Bernard Dinwoody Wilmot that I am looking for in 1901.
1911 he is in Maidstone Prison, Kent.

Thanks Jim, yes that is my family & I do have all the census but Bernard isn't with the family in 1901, you wouldn't beleive the spellings I have found for Wilmot!!!
The story has it that Bernard borrowed money from his brother, Hubert to invest in a rubber plantation in Malaya & lost all the money. Their father died in 1884 leaving them all a lot of money so I'm guessing that what ever Bernard was in prison for was to do with someone elses money going astray.....would really love to find out  :o

In 1891 census he is in Birmingham but I can't find him in 1901. Are newspaper archives available online as I live in Austalia?

I have found a great uncle in the 1911 census as an inmate at Maidstone prison, Kent. How do I go about finding his records or court documents for that prison?
