Hi I found some information that may be of interest to you. My name is Amos and I am a Shirreff living in Brisbane Australia. I have never known much about my family history. I have always been told there is a Jamaican connection and I think I may have found it. John shirreff is mentioned to have moved from Glasgow to Jamaica this is mentioned in

Clifford Shirreff was reportedly born jamaica 1830

Many of the shirreff's were either born in or died in Stawell in Victoria there is infact a street named Shirreff st in Stawell. I am some what intrigued now and want to continue this research.
