Ken Dodds, Frank Migy and Alan Gardner, the three of us have gone over every week of every year from 62-66. Had lunch with Frank (and Irene) on Wednesday; they only live a few miles from me. Good Day Dave; I also knew your Dad, not as well as Frank, but he was there in my early days. I arrived in Aug '62. The Huntsman is still there; but that is up at Clipsley Lane; that busy corner is now by-passed as they have built a new road from the East Lancs x roads (A58) directly down to the Ship Inn at Blackbrook; the Hunstman seems a quiet spot now.

The hotel I meant was in the centre of St Helens; someone will remember! (I do!)

Where have you all gone? On a cushy posting and keeping it quiet?

I remember Duncan Ashcroft - AC -plonk - but I recall he was a likeable lad who seemed to get caught for all sorts of jobs! So you have family in Preston Jim; after Haydock Preston was my other happiest time. I was the recruiting officer for Preston, Blackpool and Blackburn in the early 80's, my office was on Fishergate opposite that little church. It's all gone now - Debenham's I think. Come on you Haydockites - what was the name of the one and only hotel in town? how many remember?

I wonder how many of you would recognise Slag Lane if you saw it now> !!  ???There are traffic lights at the junction with the East Lancs; which is not as busy as it was in the old days because the M62 takes most of the heavy stuff directly in/out of Queen's Drive in the 'pool.

The slag heap is laid flat and there are new houses everywhere; including all over the domestic site.
Nothing remains but memories!! Clipsley Lane has not changed much; the High School is still near the bottom of Slag lane. There is also a by-pass from the Ashton traffic lights down behind the Huntsman to the Ship Inn at Blackbrrok. These 2 pubs have not changed at all!!  Cheers Ken

Good day to All; sorry I missed you Cerura; we were on a short break celebrating someone's special birthday and also 46 years wed! Please call again or E mail.

I agree with Jim; think that young lady in the photo was a NAAFI employeee - not in my memory catalogue of WRAF personnel. I am so pleased to have found Frank (and Irene), we are enjoying their company on a regular basis. Have not heard from Pat; I suspect she has her hands full - hope all is well with her. Phone message from Alan(Muriel) Gardner; they are away on hols.

My best wishes to everyone.  Ken
