Thanks for your reply.
I have searched contemporary newspapers with no luck.
Also I have searched graveyards but it can be difficult to know where to look as I don't know if the bodies were recovered and if so where.
Therefore I suspect that you are right and that it is unlikely that I will find any reference anywhere to thgeir deaths.

I have trawled the Scotlands people website with no luck and I have used the website to follow the orphaned son's subsequent history.

Thanks for your response but Lochhournhead  ( or Kinlochourn) is in Invernessshire at the head of Loch Hourn.
My request for help should be under the Inverness heading rather than Stirling.

I am looking for help in gaining any information on relatives William McLeod married to Janet Park in 1847, had a son in Lochhournhead in 1847 and then both were drowned some time between 1847 and 1851.
I can't trace any death certificates or other details relating to the drowning.
