Hi Cathy
Yes this is the same family-My GGGF William married twice-1St to Sarah Dyas and they had 4 children,Thomas,William,Clara and Caroline, then to Emma Garbett and up to press I have found 10 children-He was certainly fertile !!
Children I have are Alice,George Henry,Ellen,Emma,Alice,Jane,James,Alfred,Joseph Ernest and Laura.Have you got that George married Alice Wainwright ? I presume you have.
I am having a little difficulty in getting back prior to William.I thimk his mother and father were William born 1791 and Mary (or Ann Maria) born 1794.
Have you anything to help ??

Regards

Paul

Warwickshire / Legal obligation ?
« on: Friday 21 January 11 13:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all

Hope somebody can help me-Is it a legal requirement to state if the father on a marriage certificate is deceased ?
If it is,when was that law brought in ?

I am trying to find my GGGF and his childrens marriages both include him on the certificate, but I cannot trace him anywhere, which leads me to think he was deceased,(childrens marriages 1842 and 1856)

All help greatefully received

Hi all
Does anyone have access to P R for St Matthew Walsall circa 1841 ? I have been advised there is an entry 20/4/1841 for Rose Ann Garbett baptism and I need to confirm mother and father, as I have also been advised there is a Fanny Garbett born 1841 who ,I suspect, could be the same person.

Thank you in advance
