Aye Scotland is shut for 2 days over the New Year it's to let all the alcohol to escape from your pores hic hic hooray only jocking 2 days of national holiday for us here so bk to normal the next full working day (for those that work Mon to Fri) so Monday that is.

Happy New Year all catters .............aye i was on SP very early this morning no problems then all of a sudden down it went no warning and i know its back up but still no explanation can only think they had a massive outage or attack maybe or as Ann Baker alluded maybe big update of new records but over 5 hours mmmmmmmmmmmmmm anyway happy record hunting. Normal service resumed here is 3 births and 2 deaths plus a same named born circa 1883 hope this gets you started if they are the ones you are related to.

Very good of you to post that dixie6 though it has been 14 yrs since gordon last posted here i hope him and is mum get some comfort from it, just to add that there is 3 common ground sections all within the same area of the vast grave yard of Dalbeth St Peters and the staff can point to the burial section given the dates known at the bothy/office on site.

Added- looks like Mary Phelan witness to death of Sarah Sands in 1920
1926 emigration to Canada for Phelan family is correct the birth of their daughter Mary Elizabeth in 1914 states father James is in France with royal inniskilling fusiliers and daughter Mary then marries in Canada so i know now that connection is correct. Garngad
