Completed Census Requests / Re: Guildford 1911 and Chertsey 1901 look-ups please.

Yes thankyou so much  Rosie for researching that :). It was interesting to hear that the factory was actually in Staines. I wondered why I couldn't find reference to it in Chertsey. They still manufacture it in Kirkaldy Scotland apparently and in Italy.

Thanks Cardiff. :) You can still buy it. My mum is a big fan of it especially if green, to my dads horror. I always heard it called just lino so at first the word didn't click with me.

Thankyou both for replying.I presume linoline factory worker is linoleum factory!?! I've never heard of linoline anyway.  Sorry, I didnt realise about 1911 look-ups not being allowed. I'll look that one up through a friend.

Hello. Please could anyone look up Frank Godfrey born in Chertsey 1886 on the censuses for 1901 and 1911? Frank is in the Guildford registration district in 1911 and in the Chertsey registration district 1901. I am interested in him and his households. Many thanks for any help with either enquiry.

Kent / Still family Cowden
« on: Tuesday 09 August 11 14:53 BST (UK)  »
A couple called Thomas Still and Sarah (nee Gainsford) had children in Cowden from 1782 onwards but married there in 1773. According to some family trees published on a couple of different subscription sites my ancestor Harriet Still born in the mid 1770s was also a child of theirs (spelt Harriot usually), even though her baptism does not show up on Cowden Igi searches. Neither does the births of several other Still children attributed to this couple before 1782-William , Elizabeth and Sophia. Does anyone know of any definate reason rather than just maybe a guess for these attributations? My Harriet did marry in Cowden.

Sussex / Re: Shermanbury deaths?
« on: Sunday 31 July 11 21:03 BST (UK)  »
Thankyou both for your help. The Sarah Henty dying in 1808 is one of my lot I think but a different Sarah from those I was seeking! I'll try and get to the area some day and see what research I can do there. Thanks again for trying. :)

Sussex / Shermanbury deaths?
« on: Sunday 31 July 11 20:17 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have any access to Shermanbury (West Sussex) death records for the 18th century?  All those on Familysearch are 19th century. I live far from the area myself. The deaths I am searching for are:

Anthony and Sarah Henty between 1754 and 1776. There may be two individuals called Anthony and two called Sarah. I am interested in all of them.

Secondly I am seeking the deaths of another couple Bridget and William Britt 1711 or later. They were born circa 1680s so their deaths are not likely to be later than 1760s and were probably much sooner.

Any help with either or both enquiries much appreciated. Thanks.
